KILL THE ALGORITHM Faraday Cage

$100.00

Sometimes you just want to get away—from your hectic daily schedule, the incessant demands of your job, or the crushing omnipresence of surveillance capitalism. We worked with artist Anthony Discenza and the folks at Silent Pocket on a custom-designed version of one of Silent Pocket's signal-blocking cell phone sleeves. Featuring Discenza's "Kill the Algorithm" logo, the sleeve is woven of ballistic nylon and is lined with a fine copper mesh. Essentially a miniature Faraday cage, this sleeve effectively blocks cellular, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, RFID, EMP and EMF signals.

We thought this project would be a nice way to encourage people to put away their phones during performances at The Lab (and everywhere else), but also to encourage awareness of the ever-more intrusive tracking and data harvesting being conducted by, well, virtually every major corporation and government at this point.

So if you want to support The Lab, embrace a more mindful, attentive experience during performance events, protect your privacy, and give yourself at least a temporary respite from from the lidless eye of surveillance capitalism, order yours today!
