Josiah Luis Alderete is a full blooded POCHO Indio and Spanglish speaking poet from La Area Bahia. He is a 2017 AIR New Voice Scholar whose radio stories have appeared on KALW's "Crosscurrents" and whose Latinx cultural affairs program "The Spanglish Power Hour" was aired on KPFA for six episodes. Josiah Luis currently resides in North Richmond where he is waiting for Quetzalquatl to arrive.
Living at the intersection of blackness, womanhood, art, and activism, Nia McAllister uses writing as her sharpest tool for understanding and interrogating the complexities of her identity and the world around her. As a Bay Area born poet, avid reader, and environmental justice advocate, Nia draws creative inspiration from ideas of home, environment, and identity. She enjoys connecting her artistic outlets with opportunities for community engagement and has begun contributing to poetry collectives and regularly performing at and hosting open mics around the Bay Area.
Isabelle Khoo-Miller is a poet and student dedicated to social justice. She was recently involved in anti-gun violence organizing throughout the Bay Area, and temporary relief programs for some of the Bay Area's homeless population. She is working with schools, her community, and the Marin DA to create and improve sexual assault policy, education, and healing. Isabelle's own identity as a queer Chinese-Mexican-Jewish woman inspires her social work to establish intersectional and inclusive actions and conversations. She now lives in New York City and is attending college.
Originally from San Francisco, Tongo Eisen-Martin is a poet, movement worker, and educator. His latest curriculum on extrajudicial killing of Black people, We Charge Genocide Again, has been used as an educational and organizing tool throughout the country. His book titled, "Someone's Dead Already" was nominated for a California Book Award. His latest book "Heaven Is All Goodbyes" was published by the City Lights Pocket Poets series, was shortlisted for the Griffin Poetry Prize and won a California Book Award and an American Book Award.
