About the Artists

Clarissa Bitar is an accomplished Palestinian oud musician and composer hailing from Los Angeles, California. With a background in Music and a specialization in Ethnomusicology from UC Santa Barbara, Clarissa's musical journey has been enriched by training under esteemed Arab oudists such as Simon Shaheen, Charbel Rouhana, and Bassam Saba. Their performances have graced stages across the United States and internationally. Innovative in their approach, Clarissa seamlessly blends the traditional sound of the oud with various genres including R&B, Pop, Hip Hop, and Rap. Their latest album 'Hassan Sabi', showcases their versatility and creativity, available for streaming on all major platforms. Clarissa's music has garnered attention across diverse mediums including Netflix, radio, film, and international exhibits, reflecting the universal appeal and impact of their artistry. Noteworthy releases include the collaborative poetry-oud EP with Palestinian poet Mohammed El-Kurd, titled 'Bellydancing on Wounds', and their solo EP 'Bayati', both demonstrating Clarissa's commitment to exploring new dimensions in music and storytelling.

Joining Clarissa on stage are Peter Mansour, a multi-instrumentalist composer and producer from Cairo, and Lara Aburamandan, a Palestinian multidisciplinary artist and singer born and raised in Gaza City. Lara’s work explores nostalgia and tends to embrace the human perspective through visual storytelling, and other forms of expression.

As an opening act, we are excited to have Lalin St. Juste, a sonic alchemist and weaver of sound, grace the stage before you. Lalin has been tapping into her magic and sharing it with audiences for over a decade. Recognized for her work as lead singer for electronic live band The Seshen, Lalin St. Juste has also made a name for herself as a singer-songwriter, producer, and co-founder of the queer and black label arthouse 7000COILS. Lalin’s work has been supported by ZooLabs, YBGF Mini Grants, the Gerbode Foundation, and others. Her music is driven by sonic spell work and is inspired by everything from Haitian traditional folklore to Bjork.
